Garhwal and Kumaon Himalaya

The Sahasratal trek, Garhwal Himalaya, Hills of Uttar Pradesh
A trek along an old pilgrimage route to holy lakes over 5000m.

The Khatling glacier trek, Garhwal Himalaya, Hills of Uttar Pradesh
One of the prettiest walks in the area, it travels along the Bhilangana river to its source at the Khatling glacier.

The Roopkund trek, Garhwal/Kumaon Himalaya, Hills of Uttar Pradesh

The Gangotri trek, Garhwal Himalaya, Hills of Uttar Pradesh

A walk to the source of the Bhagirathi river, a huge glacier at Gaumukh and beyond to alpine pastures surrounded by high mountains.

The Buran Pass trek
Trek from our Tons river base into the picturesque Kinnaur valley in Himachal Pradesh over a traditional shepherd route and continue in Spiti and Lahaul.

Around Nanda Devi trek, Kumaon Himalaya, Hills of Uttar Pradesh
Walk around the Nanda Devi National Park, where legendary explorers first found a route to enter the inaccessible Rishi gorge.

Milam Malari trek, Kumaon Himalaya, Hills of Uttar Pradesh
Trek from a remote village in Kumaon through a trans-Himalayn arid zone with great views of the surrounding mountains.

Kuari Pass trek, Garhwal Himalaya, Hills of Uttar Pradesh
Also known as the “Curzon’s Trail”, this was a favorite trek of Lord Curzon, offers great views of the Garhwal & Kumaon Himalayas.

All these routes can be combined with river rafting journey on one of India’s premier rivers- Add 3-4 days to trip.

Ladakh, Lahaul, Spiti & Kinnaur

Jeep safaris throughout Ladakh, Spiti and Lahaul are possible. Visit the valleys of Nubra, Zanskar, Dha Hanu and the lakes of Tso Moriri and Pangong Tso. Go trans Himalayan for a fortnight visting monasteries and villages over 13,000 feet on our Trans Himalayan Wilderness Safari or visit the recently opened areas of Ladakh in 20 days of gorgeous lunar landscape.

The Parang La trek
Trek over this high pass from the Spiti valley to the Tso Moriri lake in Ladakh along an ancient trade route.

The Shingo La/Zanskar trek

One of the most popular routes, it takes you from Lahaul into the Zanskar valley in Ladakh.

The Classic Ladakh trek
Starting at the Lamayuru monastery, it travels through the Ripchar valley and onto the Markha valley crossing several passes, gorges and open pastures.

Rupshu treks
A few nice routes are possible in the Ruspshu area ending at the Tso Moriri.

Nubra treks
Cross over from the Indus valley over the Digar la or the Wari la along ancient caravan routes into the Nubra valley, home of the Bactrian camel and leading upto the Siachen glacier.

Mountain Biking
Travel along the Manali-Leh route or into the Spiti valley with peaks towering over 20,000 feet on either side of the highway or bike through the Spiti valley visiting villages and
monasteries.

The Wangkhango la trek
Trek from the Kinnaur valley over this pass to end in the Pin valley, home of the ibex and the snow leopard. A route with a contrast awaits you on either side of this pass crossing.

Kinnaur/Garhwal treks
Cross from the Har-ki-dun valley in Garhwal into the villages on the Baspa valley in Kinnaur, a contrast in culture, terrain and people.

Stok kangri or Yan Kangri
Climb a 6000 metre high mountain

The “Chadar” trip, Zanskar
A trip best done in February – walk on the frozen zanskar river, the only way out for the people of Zanskar as winter closes them in from all directions – the only way out is by foot on the frozen sheet of ice through an incredible gorge.

Note: Treks in Ladakh can be combined with a spectacular run down the otherwise untrekkable ZANSKAR RIVER GORGE.

Dharamsala/Chamba/Kangra/Kullu

The “gaddi” routes
Cross the Indrahar, Baleni, Kugti, Minkiani, Khamsar passes alongwith the shepherds over the Dhauladhar range.

Kullu Trek
Treks in the alpine areas of Kullu with options of trekking over to adjoining valleys.

The Pin Parvati trek
Cross this 17,000 feet high pass from the lush Parvati valley into the stark Pin valley visiting some monasteries of Spiti on the way out.


SIKKIM/DARJEELING/ASSAM/ARUNACHAL PRADESH

The Rhododendron trek
Visit Darjeeling, its tea plantations and trek over the Goecha la to Sikkim through verdant tropical and alpine forests with orchids, rhododendrons and primuleas for company.

The Sandakphu trek
Walk through forest of orchids, rhododendron and spruce with 180 degree views of Everest, Kanchendzonga. Makalu, Lhotse and Chomolhari.

The Kaziranga sojourn

Visit the last stronghold of the one-horned rhino, ride elephants through this park, located on the banks of the mighty Brahmaputra.

The Arunachal Odyssey
Cross the Brahmaputra on a ferry, drive through tribal settlements of Ziro, Daporijo, Along, Bomdila and Tawang and top it off with visiting the Miao National Park.
